A cruciform bluestone church begun in 1865 to the design of Samuel Headen Merrett, extended to his design by Robert Dalton and John Gibbins in 1885, and by Urban Billing in 1888, and completed in 1923 by the addition of St Martin's chapel by Rodney Alsop. The only known example of a church designed by Merrett, it has a severe exterior of interest for its elongated lancet windows and elaborate timber flèche. A bluestone Gothic church erected in 1861 to the design of Nathaniel Billing, with the addition of transepts and vestibule in 1908 and spire in 1936. Hawkesbury River Freestone is used for the dressings, including the tracery of the four-light window in the main facade, alternate voussoirs of the side windows (giving a banded effect) and the label stops of these windows which have remained to the present as uncarved blocks.
