Dalcrombie, constructed 1924-25 for E. Thomas of St. Kilda, has high
local significance as a fine example of the substantial holiday houses,

prominent businessmen, doctors, artists and academics. It is of
architectural significance as an interesting, typical example of early
modernist design.
Description
(As requested by the owner, this property was viewed from the boundary of the property. The garden is heavily planted and we were unable to assess the house in any depth.)
An Art Deco-influenced, two storey house set within a mature landscaped garden set well back from the road. The entrance is marked by a set of double iron gates and the property is bounded by a low freestone fence. The approach to the house is along a tree-lined curved driveway.
The two storey house, dating from c.1920 has smooth rendered parapet walls with horizontal continuous windows and minimal ornamentation, typical of early modernist architecture.
