Mount Mitchell Homestead at Lexton was designed by the prominent architect Charles Webb and built in 1860-61 for the Robertson family to replace an earlier homestead. Webb (1821-98) was one of the most prominent architects in the early colony of Victoria and designed some of Melbourne's most important buildings. Homestead Statement of Significance: Point Cook Homestead, is a large, rambling bluestone house built in stages for pastorialist Thomas Chirnside, from probably 1850 onwards.
