Old school house which was built in 1885 adjacent to the Parish Church of St Peter, Eastern Hill, was designed by Willian Pitt with two doors giving separate entrance for boys and girls. The School House and adjacent Parsonage are similar in character and share some unusual roof gable details. The old school house now provides living quarters for clergy and their families. These cottages were part of the original Stag Hotel premises and they were probably built at the same time as the hotel in 1847. They were leased from 1853-57 to the Bank of Australasia as the Bank's first office in Belfast. No 18 was leased to the Belfast District Roads Board from 1858-63 and to the Shire from 1863-77.
