Vincent Street,, DAYLESFORD VIC 3460 - Property No B5424 |
One of the smaller examples in the great series of town halls designed by G R Johnson, the leading practitioner in the field: it dates form 1883-5 and has a giant order pilastrated facade with a happy use of arched windows with colonettes set into the sides, for while this elegant motif is used by Johnson elsewhere it is particularly apposite to Daylesford, where primitive Palladian windows are a hallmark of local architecture.
