Barn at Dunhelen Homestead, Greenvale, is a large bluestone barn erected circa 1860. The central portion has a large central lantern in the centre of the shallow hipped roof, which is continued to form large lean-to roofed sections. There is a large segmental arched doorway with symmetrically arranged window and door openings to either side. The walls are in random coursed bluestone and the roof is clad in corrugated iron. Mt Rothwell Homestead, Little River, was constructed for Pastoralist Robert Chirnside after 1871 to the designs, it is understood, of Architect P Colquhuoun. Chirnside came to Victoria in 1857 to manage the Werribee run for his uncle Thomas Chirnside and bought the Mount Rothwell land in 1865. sIn 1839, Andrew Scott took up the station at 'Mt. Boninyong" which comprised 16,000 acres. Mrs. Scott was reputedly the first white woman in the area. The present homestead was built in 1884 by Robert Scott and was designed by architect, Henderson in "Scottish Baronial Mansion" style. The Mount Talbot pastoral run at Toolondo was acquired by Dr Robert Officer in 1847. In 1859 his sons Charles and Suetonius took over the property and apparently in c.1862 Charles Officer had erected a substantial two storey bluestone mansion with encircling timber verandah as an addition to the original single storey homestead. Bungeeltap Homestead, Ballan, was first settled in 1838 by Cowle and Stead and was acquired by Dugald MacPherson in 1854. McPherson erected a two-storey, stone house in a Gothic style circa 1863. Circa 1922, the upper storey was removed and the house was completely rebuilt. The homestead now presents a large, hipped roof continuing to form the verandahs and has large chimneys as the other main feature.
