The station building at Taradale was constructed in 1862-63 for the Victorian Railways Department. The bluestone building consists of a single storey office and waiting facilities at one end and a two storey residence at the other. Timber additions to the residence have been added which overlook the station master's yard and the bluestone lamp room/toilet block at the other end.
