The station building at Taradale was constructed in 1862-63 for the Victorian Railways Department. The bluestone building consists of a single storey office and waiting facilities at one end and a two storey residence at the other. Timber additions to the residence have been added which overlook the station master's yard and the bluestone lamp room/toilet block at the other end. Langfield, a joiner, at No 311. In 1857 No. 305-307 was occupied by Lloyds dancing rooms and was converted in the early 1860's into a Freemasons' Hall.
