Gatehouse - St Albans Homestead
305 Wilson Road,, ST ALBANS VIC 3021 - Property No B5048 |
Built in 1890-91 by Henderson and Marryat, this red brick gatehoue was added by John Grozier to St Albans although subsequent subdivision of the estate has diverted the driveway. The cream brick string courses and trim related the design to that of the main house and the belltower adds a note of distinction. See also File Number 3978 St Albans Homestead.

Lodge & Gates at Rupertswood, Macedon Street, Sunbury, comprise the elaborate gates and adjacent lodge erected with the main house in 1874 for Sir William Clarke, to the designs of architect George Brown. The lodge is asymmetrically composed and is constructed in stone relieved by lighter dressings, a motif repeated to the iron palisade fence. The Mount Noorat homestead was established in 1868 by pioneer Scottish-born settler Niel Black, following division of the historic Glenormiston run between original pastoral company partners Black, A S Finlay and T S Gladstone.
