Built around 1880, the shopsare of local architectural and historic significance. They are among Kyneton's most substantial nineteenth century two storey shops.
The shops provide an appropriate streetscape link between the Kyneton Shire Hall and Post Office and are members of an important group of buildings near the Jennings Street intersection.
