Statement of Significance

A small complex of single storey brick and corrugated iron buildings representative of the more recent light engineering industries established in South Melbourne in the inter-war period and often operating within the physical/economic interstices created by the larger and heavier engineering establishments then operating in South Melbourne. The brick offices, constructed in 1946, both by the choice of material and their built form, are a rare extant expression of the new found confidence which Australians then had in their manufacturing capabilities.
