Tips on searching – City of Ballarat Heritage Database
Some records in the City of Ballarat Heritage Database may be incomplete or may contain references to other organisations' citations. To check if a local heritage place/object is also a State registered place/object, search the Victorian Heritage Database. Contact the City of Ballarat or Planning Schemes Online if you require clarification on any information contained in the database. Simple search is a very powerful tool, so the more descriptive and specific, the better. For example, entering the word 'Shop' to find all sites historically associated with commercial businesses, might also return a registered place called ‘Bishop’. When the search returns "0" results, correct the spelling of the search term. Narrow your search and try again. Each 'search field' has help information. Move your cursor over the field
You can search by entering the place name, street name or heritage overlay (HO) number in the appropriate box. When searching by HO number the other search fields are ignored.
