Show Place Maps and StreetviewStatement of Significance
Yelland No 4 Timber Mill is of local significance. This is a later mill site, more associated with the Yelland brothers than with Cuming, Smith & Co. Little other than the sawdust heap remains. (Supple 1991)
Description
A large sawdust heap (40 metres in diameter, 20 metres high) is the only substantial evidence of this mill. Some cable, fragments of china and snig tracks were apparent in the bush across the road from the sawdust heap. (Supple 1991)
The mill building may have been located 20 metres east of the sawdust. Two small terraced areas here may mark the mill site. The extent of the site is 50 metres by 50 metres. (HV - Historical Archaeology Register)
