The sole surviving building of the Coranderrk Aboriginal Station which
was once the largest Aboriginal Station in Victoria. (Tansley, 1978)
Despite alterations, a substantial and sole survivor of buildings
associated with Coranderrk, a promient Victorian aboriginal mission
station for sixty years following establishment in 1863. (NT, 3902)
Description
The two-storey Superintendent's house (0027) is located approximately 400m along the entrance road to the Coranderrk Aboriginal Station property. It was constructed of hand made bricks and has a small single-storey extension on its east wall, and a front verandah and entrance. Its dimensions are 13 metres north-south by 12.5 metres east-west (including verandah). (Heritage Victoria)
