Statement of Significance

One of the region's oldest and most elaborate churches. Architecturally, the most interesting historic church in the region and one of the churches in most original condition. "Interesting" (National Trust Citation)

Description

A Gothic style structure of hand-made bricks, cement rendered. Foundations (above ground) of Lilydale rock. Slate roof. (Tansley, 1978)

A crisply-detailed cement-faced brick church built in 1882-3 and designed by T J Crouch. The facade incorporates a porch and three windows with hood moulds and cusped tracery. The interior retains its original timber fittings and windows with coloured glass borders. (NT, 2476)
