Show Place Maps and StreetviewStatement of Significance
The Millgrove Avenue of Honour of red flowering gums planted to honour district men who served in the First World War has high local significance as a township landmark and as one of a number of such memorials planted throughout the Shire and, indeed, the State, after the 1914-18 War.
Description
A number of trees from the Millgrove Avenue of Honour survives along the Warburton Highway through Millgrove. The avenue is a mixture of two eucalyptus species: Sugar Gums (Eucalyptus cladocaylx) and Southern Mahogany Gum ( Eucalyptus botryoides). Around fourteen mature trees appear to survive. Some trees, however, show evidence of damage by disease, vehicle impacts and pruning.
