historical significance.
Of aesthetic significance because the gardens contain a beautiful and
wide variety of exotic flora species, especially the Himalayan Lily. RNE
criterion A.3
Of historical significance because the barn and cottages are some of the
oldest surviving structures in the Belgrave district, and because the
property and gardens were developed by JC Cole, one of the early
horticulturalists in the long tradition of fruit and flower growing and
the establishment of fine gardens. RNE criteria D.2, H.1
