Statement of Significance

J & J Feiglins No. 1 and No. 2 Mills (and the associated tramway features) are of regional significance as evidence of an extensive timber harvesting operation associated with the Feiglin family, local orchardists.

Description

At Feiglin's No. 1 mill site are large concrete seasoning kilns and the remains of a portable steam engine. The incline tramway is now a four wheel drive track. There are extensive tramway and spot mill remains at the top of the incline. (Supple 1991)

Very little remains at Feiglins No. 2 site. However, a group of extremely large tree stumps may be significant in terms of giving some idea of the original growth. (Supple 1991)
