Show Place Maps and StreetviewStatement of Significance
The cherry trees in Main Street have local significance as an important part of the streetscape of Belgrave's town centre and shopping precinct.
Description
Flowering cherry trees extend along both sides of Main Street, Belgrave, primarily at the western end of the shopping centre. Each is approximately 3 metres tall. There are some gaps in the row. The cherry trees are spectacular when in bloom. For the rest of the year they are only a small element in the streetscape.
Generally the trees appear to be in good condition and to be well maintained. Loss of some trees has reduced the overall visual quality of the avenue.
