The unidentified wreck is significant as evidence of bluestone ballasting operations in the Stony Creek backwash area. Ballasting using bluestone quarried from Williamstown and Stony Creek was an important industry within the Port of Melbourne for sailing vessels prior to its phasing out with the increase in iron and steel vessels with water ballasting systems.

Details |
The site consists of an iron hulk with two deck mounted tabernacles probably used for masts or cranes, and a small deck pump. No evidence of engines or propellor. An internal inspection of the hulk revealed bluestone ballast.
The wreck has also been tentatively identified as the ex- Victorian colonial naval torpedo boat Miner.
