A fine American built ship of 991 tons purchased by the Tasmanian Steamship Company in 1890. She made several voyages between Hobart and Newcastle under the command of Captain Wilson before she was converted to a coal hulk. She was the largest square rigger registered out of Hobart and was later towed to Launceston" (O'May, Wooden Hookers of Hobart Town, p. 128)

Later owners: C.G. & E.F. Millar, railway contractors, of Melbourne (6 Aug. 1886); C.H. Hudson, steamship agent, of Melbourne (30 Jan. 1890); Tasmanian Steam Navigation Co. of Hobart (7 Feb. 1890); Union Steam Ship Co. of New Zealand Ltd, Dunedin (9 May 1891) - reg. closed 11 Aug. 1913,dismantled, converted to hulk, re-registered Melbourne 15 June 1914. Oak; hackmatack, tamarak or jupiter; bolted, yellow metal, galvanised iron, sheathed with felt and yellow metal July 1884. Two decks with orlop beams. Large repairs, special survey 1881.
