Lieutenant Commander Vivian Franklin Lyon Rose Price served in the Royal Navy. He was the son of Colonel Tom Price (d.1911) who, amongst his many appointments and achievements was a founder and commander of the Victorian Mounted Rifles and, in 1900, was appointed commanding officer of the Second Victorian Continguent to serve in South Africa.
Lieutenant Commander Price CB, was married to Jean Purves Mills in May 1912, at Scots' Church, Melbourne while he was on furlough from the Navy. During the war, he served aboard HMS Europa. His death was recorded at 21 General Hospital, Egypt on 5 November 1915, when Price was 34 years of age. Hewas buried at Chatby Military and War Memorial Cemetery, Alexandria, Egypt. He was survived by his wife and daughter Judith.
