Few stained glass memorials were erected to the fallen of the Boer War (1899-1902). Melbourne's leading stained glass artist, William Montgomery, designed two windows to the Dallimore brothers, Joseph and Frank Rupert, who drowned together on New Year's Day 1903, which were unveiled on 2 August 1903 in a service conducted by the Reverend FJ Betts. St. Paul's Anglican Church closed in about 2005 because of declining numbers of worshippers in the district and the building leased by the Russian Orthodox community. In April 2010 it was listed for sale and later sold to the local Orthodox Church. The windows have been removed and are to be erected in buildings attached to Christ Church Anglican, Warrnambool.
Major Joseph Dallimore DSO (listed as Captain on AWM Roll of Honour) was twice mentioned in despatches, and awarded the Distinguished Service Order in 1902. His widow received the award from the State Governor, with a letter expressing his sympathy.
