To the Glory of God and to perpetuate the loyalty, patriotism and sacrifice of the men from this parish who served in the Great War 1914-1919. Erected by the Parishioners.

Description & History

The memorial window dedicated to 15 church members who fell in the First World War had the 'Names of the Fallen' set in two painted shields at the base of the lights. It was unveiled by Mr.Lowe, President of the local branch of the Returned Services' Association at the 1923 Armistice Day service. The large congregation heard the ceremonial sermon delivered by the Rev. Walter Ernest Dexter, a former long-serving and decorated military chaplain.

Thenames of those killed in action and inscribed on the window were: G Chadderton; T Cooper; WT Dickenson; W Ditchfield; W Harris; W Hart; AJ Hotham; Val Ireland; FN Knight; JH Langley; GL Lupton; WG Ornsby; G Reddy; D Roderick; WM Watson.
