There are long sandy beaches backed by tea-tree scrub (Leptospernum laevigatum) and Banksia woodland (Banksia integrifolia) from Darby River to Shallow Inlet. Sandy Point township lies on the eastern side of Shallow Inlet and stretches for a mile along Waratah Bay.
