Waratah Bay

Waratah Bay has a coastline of approx. 30 miles in length. It is roughly semi-circular in shape. There are long sandy beaches backed by tea-tree scrub (Leptospernum laevigatum) and Banksia woodland (Banksia integrifolia) from Darby River to Shallow Inlet. Sandy Point township lies on the eastern side of Shallow Inlet and stretches for a mile along Waratah Bay. Rare or localised Two rare, naturally occurring white-flowering Victorian Waratahs that were first observed in 1986 and registered as 'Errinundra White' by Will Cramer in 1988. The two plants are the only known examples in the wild. Both trees exhibit typical upright growth. The first tree is multi-stemmed while the second has a single trunk (with 2 scars).
