Fairholme is a two storey, symmetrically arranged house built in 1873 to the design of architects Crouch and Wilson, for warehouseman James Copeland. Construction is in stuccoed brickwork, treated as ashlar masonry, with a slate roof. An originally single but now double storey verandah supported on Tuscan columns, with square corner piers, encircles three sides of the house and has a cast iron balustrade.
