Contribution to landscape of historic garden This tree is an excellent example of this rainforest species which is less common in cultivation in Victoria than the more familiar Brachychiton populenus. It is particularly old and makes a significant contribution to the streetscape as there are no other large trees in this area. It is the last of the remaining trees of the former Market Square Reserve, which became the Portarlington Gardens after 1908.
