The centre tree of a stand of three pines, one being Pinus canariensis. The trees are on a north-south axis with a 12 metre apart spacing. An uncommon species in cultivation in Victoria, they were planted by Harold Brookes in the 1930s to provide shade for his collection of rhododendrons. Other known examples of the species occur at Kew (near WIllsmere) and Creswick Gardens
