Statement of Significance

Contribution to landscape

A large specimen covering almost the entire courtyard. Surrounded by buildings on three sides, the tree isa significant landscape feature. Beneath the canopy the root system is covered with hollow bricks and seating is arranged on the southern side of the tree. The tree would benefit from a management program to remove deadwood, crossing limbs and stubs. This elm is and uncommon species in the district with the only other examples being two trees in a private garden in Irymple.
