Commemorating an historic event

A venerable specimen planted in February 1890 by the then Premier of NSW, Sir Henry Parkes, to commemorate the success of the Australasian Federation Conference - the first meeting of statesmen from the colonies to agree to the concept of Federation. Known as the "Federation Oak' this tree is suffering from possum damage, excessive epicormic growth and insect attack.
