This tree, originally one of a pair,marks the original entrance to the Sorrett Estate. Planted by Charles Washington Umphelby on 11/3/1859. A lovely old tree and well known landmark referred to as the 'Sorrett Tree'
July 2006: Severe pruning or removal maybe necessary due to dropping of limbs. If removed the elm will be replaced by one of its seedlings
