Why is it significant?
One of a pair that grew at entrance to the "Brushy Creek Hotel", built as a 10 roomed house in 1855 by Henry and Hugh O'Rourke. Initially it was a "Coffee House" and later became a hotel used by travellers going to the Yanakee Jim Goldfields near Warburton. A plaque telling the history is attached to the tree.
