Statement of Significance

Contribution to landscape

An unusual planting style for the species giving the street a linear walled appearance. The avenue is not pure - a Grevillea robusta has been inter-planted as a street tree. The east side is threatened from overhead powerlines running through the crowns and bundled cables should be considered to allow the trees' growth. The avenue is the only known example of Cypress being used as street trees in Victoria.
