Statement of Significance

Location or Context: Remnant native vegetation; Particularly old

Land was given, from the estate of the late Theodore Napier, to council on the condition that the remnant woodland be left in its natural condition. The parkland contains 22 ancient trees,many severely damaged and about 40 otherRiver Red Gums of differing ages. There are no very young trees although Council have initiated a regeneration program, reduced mowing frequency and injected fertilisers systematically.
