In 1878, whilst on a trip to Scotland and England, John Donaldson visited Windsor Great Park where he collected some acorns. He brought these back and planted them at his property, 'Kangaroo Hall' at Kangaroo Ground.
The tree has a large trunk cavity and requires considerable tree maintenance involving thinning deadwooding, cavity filling and cabling.
