Known as "The Coronation Avenue" these trees were planted on the coronation day of each British monarch since Queen Victoria's reign. Plantings were as follows:
1901 King Edward VII and Queen Alexandra
1910 King George V and Queen Mary
1937 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth
1952 Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Phillip
The trees planted between 1901 and 1937 are similar in size. The 1952 planting exhibit stress due to drought and stock damage. All trees would benefit from a management program.
