An isolated stand of seven trees occurring on the edge of an old basalt flow. Some of the other stands in the area have been cut down. Located at Creswick, 5km east along Midland Hwy, right at Sawmill Rd, then Binns Lane, 2nd road on right, at end of road (1982).
Remnant trees growing on the edge of a basalt flow at the end of Binns Lane, Springmount. The area is crown land but has been leased and used for cattle grazing. Previously, these trees had been surrounded by hawthorn and blackberry, but this has been cleared.There is no longer an opportunity for new trees to establish due to the cattle grazing. The current population of 15 trees is of mixed age (2012).

Circumference (m): 3 stems: 1.36, 3.05, 2.21 - equivalent to single stem of 4.52m)
Spread (m): N-S 15; E-W 15.3
Height (m): 11.2
Estimated age: Approx 150 years for oldest, 25 years for youngest
