Contribution to the landscape.

Located on the north-east corner of the Ashburton Community Centre, this tree is a landmark feature of the area due to its size and location. Removal of a lower branch on the east side to clear powerlines is required.
Angophora costata is a common woodland and forest tree of Eastern Australia. It is a large,wide-spreading tree and can grow to a height of 20 metres. The old grey bark is shed in spring to reveal new pink bark.The timber is brittle and limbs tend to fall readily.
