Rare or localised
Located in the playground of the school on the site of the former Caloola Centre, this is a large example of a species uncommon in cultivation in Victoria. This species is native to California and is unique in having flattened branchlets always lyingin one plane, to form a 'spray',instead of bristling all around the twig as in most other species of Cypress. The tree has suffered wind damage in its upper crown, causing the mis-shapen top.
