Contribution to the landscape of historic garden
Aesthetic value

Thsi tree is a significant feature of the landscape, forming a backdrop to the sunken garden of the Anzac Hostel. Its large size, dense dark green foliage and large white flowers is particularly attractive. The tree has a solid trunk and good branch structure. The tree once grew beside a summer house on the mound of the former residence.

It is suffering extreme dieback at tips of all branches especially in the canopy. It would appear that it is suffering from the prolonged drought. The tree has been mulched.
