Horticultural value

A small tree, being the only known (!988)example of this cultivar growing in Victoria. The tree exhibits very low vigour and leaf burning from the north winds is evident. Located at shrubbery north of statue of Mercury.
Fraxinus excelsior 'Aurea-variegata' is a deciduous tree native to Europe. European ash provides tough, elastic timber that is widely used for furniture and also used to make tennis racquets and cricket stumps
