Statement of Significance

Contribution to the landscape
Historical value

This planting, with trees 11metres apart, is the only known example of a commemorative avenue using Pinus radiata. A sign at either end reads "Honour Avenue A.D. 1933" and each tree has an inscribed plaque to commemorate those of the area who served in World War One. The trees are uniform in size, with the exception of two smaller trees. At the western end (township side) a tree has died.
Remnants of street planting (Monterey Pine and Sugar Gums) further to the west detract from the avenue.
