This tree was planted by pioneer settler, Mary Agnes O'Rourke circa 1870, a pioneer settler at Black Mountain Station. The story goes that Mrs O'Rourke initially twisted two tree limbs together to give the tree increased strength, and the tree exibits marks which could give credence to this story. The tree is in good condition despite the harsh growing environment.
This tree is located on the south bank of Little River, north of the bridge on Gelantipy Road, Black Mountain Station.
