Outstanding example of species

A very large and sound example of Kurrajong, located on the stony hill-slopes near Maringa Creek in Nyerimilang Park. This isolated specimen is growing near a large family grouping of the species, a number of which occur within the Park boundaries. The trees are in excellent condition having survived European settlement and ringbarking. The species is widely distributed in East Gippsland and North-East Victoria, however the specimens in the Park are by far the best examples known.
This tree is located at the southern most limit of range near Maringa Creek.
