Statement of Significance

Aboriginal Culture:

A tree associated with Aboriginal activities.

A 'canoe tree' with two scars either side of the trunk. The north scar measures 3.6m high by 0.72 m wide; the south scar measures 3.0 m high by 0.8 m wide. A tree having two canoe scars is an uncommon occurrence - another known occurrence is near Bacchus Marsh on Long Forest Road. The tree is in decline but the scars are well preserved.

This tree is located near the Murray River, south-east of Boundary Bend.
