This Pinus torreyana is a very large and dominant specimen growing in parkland surrounding the historic "Mooramong" homestead. There are a total of three Soledad Pines of which two are in poor condition. Pinus torreyana was one of the rarest pine species in the world in the early 20th century,and is still considered endangered in the United States.
All the other pines are Pinus radiata. This tree has a very large circumference and canopy spread and appears to be of similar age to specimens growing at Bendigo, Castlemaine, Warrnambool and Malsmbury Reservoir.
Located north-west of the tennis court.
