Outstanding size

This tree is an outstanding specimen of Cork Oak (Quercus suber) displaying perfect form and symmetry. It tree is in excellent condition, however, the compacted soil required attention to increase the water infiltration rate.Two other outstanding specimens occur in Portland and Caulfield (both in church yards).
The tree is located at the University of Melbourne, Burnley campus. formerly Burnley Horticultural College
