This is a very large and attractive specimen of Cape Bushwillow growing as a lawn specimen in the Princess Gardens. The tree's low spreading, weeping canopy is particularly attractive. The species, a native of South Africa, is uncommon in cultivation in Victoria. Other known examples occur in The Royal Botanic Gardens (x8), Victoria Gardens Prahran, Caulfield Park (x3), Greenmeadows Garden Caulfield, and Birregunda at Cape Schanck. This tree is the largest and best formed specimen known.
