A native of New Zealand,the Cabbage Tree (Cordyline australis) was very popular in the late 1880s and can be found in many historic gardens. This specimen is the largest known in cultivation in Victoria.
March 2015: Andrew Blackman observed the tree to be in much better condition than a previous visit 10 years ago during drought.
