Historical value

This tree was planted in 1880 by Archdeacon Allnutt who brought the seedling from the Garden of Gethsemane (Israel). The tree has been severely lopped to accommodate building extensions. The regrowth is strong but the tree will require extensive surgery to reconstruct its structure and improve appearance.

March 2015 This tree has improved since last visit during drought ( A Blackman)
