Statement of Significance

The cemetery is of National significance for Nature Conservation. It is amongst the most species rich grassland remnants on the Keilor Plains. It supportsa relatively intact area of threatened Western Basalt Plains Grassland, a large population of Rutidosis leptorrhyncoides (Endangered in Australia), a moderate population of Pimelea spinescens (Vulnerable in Australia) and a population of the undescribed Craspedia 'Deerinallum' (probably Vulnerable in Australia). The Striped Legless Lizard (Delma impar - Vulnerable in Australia) has been recorded from the cemetery and from the area to the north.
